Button # 422a
Birmingham HM 1918 'W.H.H'
Description

Outlane Golf Club - The club was formed in 1906, its eighteen-hole course located some four miles west of Huddersfield at Slack Lane, Outlane, Yorkshire. This is a very fine award example in silver and triple enamels (22mm) comprising a white enamel central shield bearing the standard emblems of the game in red enamel. A rim of blue enamel enhances the club title in a good unambiguous display. The course can be viewed from the M62, and assuming it is the original site, is an example of what our Edwardian ancestors would have termed ‘sporting’. The reverse marked for Birmingham 1918 by WHH.

Information is from an article in "The British Golf Collectors Society" written by Dixon Pickup.
