Edinburgh Burgess Golfing Society - The Royal Crown on the back of button 196a indicates that a Royal Warrant has been granted to that particular button manufacturer. Thereafter the Company or more strictly the person NAMED in the Royal Warrant was entitled to promote via advertising a sign over the works etc., Purveyors or Suppliers to His/Her Majesty etc etc.

# 702 is a brass button with silver plating on the front of button only.
