Description

Hessle Golf Club - The club was formed in 1906 and originally located at Swanland Hall, North Ferriby, East Yorkshire; the advent of the Humber Bridge c1969 required the club to move to Westfield Road, Cottingham. This button # 445 is one of my favourite buttons, the very fine casting exhibiting superb die-work. The White Rose in high relief bears an Edwardian style male at the address, with the ground detailed most finely. The club title is in low relief on a dimpled ground. Some thought went into this one! Marked Birmingham 1918 by W.J.D., with a diameter of 25mm.

Information is from an article in "The British Golf Collectors Society" written by Dixon Pickup.
